Austin High School opened its doors for the first time in 1995. Since that time, high academic standards set upon a foundation of a supportive family atmosphere has paved the way for excellence and provided opportunities for diverse co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
Austin takes great pride as goals have taken root and are becoming reality. Students and faculty work diligently toward embracing growth and maximizing potential while maintaining individual and interpersonal relationships.

From Hwy. 59, exit Hwy 6 and travel North

Turn left onto W. Airport Blvd.

Take W. Airport Blvd. to FM 1464. Turn left onto 1464. AHS will be on your left.

Technology at AHS

At Austin, we are exceptionally proud of our technology. Every teacher has one or more computers in the classroom and there are computer labs available for teachers to bring their classes during the school year. There is also a student lab in the library. We offer a variety of technology-based electives in which students use AutoCAD, MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash, Photo Story, Windows Movie Maker, HTML, C++, Java and Javascript.

Athletics at AHS

Austin High School offers a selection of sports for students including baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, dance, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track, and volleyball. During the 1999-2000 school year, our football team and boys' soccer team advanced to district playoffs. Our Austin Angels dance team has received numerous state and national awards, and our cheerleading squad placed fifth in national competition.

Electives at AHS

AHS offers many outstanding electives to students. We offer fine arts including band, orchestra, dance, art, theater, and speech and drama. In addition, students may choose from electives such as newspaper, photojournalism, accounting, business law, marketing, floral design, health sciences, agricultural education, environmental sciences, and aquatic science. We also have an outstanding co-op program.
