Barrington Place Elementary
A TEA Recognized Campus! Believing that all students are unique and capable, it is the mission of the Barrington Place Elementary staff to provide the skills essential for lifelong learning. We will create a supportive environment that develops the intellectual and social capacities of all students to become responsible citizens. In order that this mission be realized, our educational program will include parent and community involvement, high expectations, and quality instruction for all students.

No food items permitted for birthdays
Birthday treats, such as cupcakes, will no longer be permitted at Barrington Place to celebrate student birthdays. This campus decision is due to changes in the Federal Child Nutrition Laws. If parents bring cupcakes or other food items to the school to celebrate, the food items will be taken to the front office to be picked up by the parent. **We must be cautious with diabetic students and students with severe food allergies.** Parents are encouraged to send non-food items for the class instead of foods of minimal nutritional value. Such items may include pencils, stickers, inexpensive small toys, etc. Teachers will not pass out birthday party invitations unless there is an invitation for every student in the class. The non-food items or birthday invitations will not be given to students until the end of the instructional day.

Responding to Parent Emails
We understand that e-mailing the teacher is a form of communication that parents often use. Please know that teachers have a 24 hour time frame to respond to parent e-mails and phone calls. As directed by campus administration, BPE teachers are not to respond to parent e-mails until after the instructional day is over – after 3:15pm. If the response to the e-mail involves information about student behavior, academics, or other confidential concerns, the teacher will call the parent in lieu of an e-mail. If you have an emergency or information that the teacher must receive during the school day, you are advised to call the school and leave a message with the receptionist. Thank you, Melissa Reichardt, Principal
