8th Grade Course Selection Night


8th Graders and their parents are invited to attend the Dulles High School Course Selection Night.
 
Where: Rodgers Auditorium for a general meeting and DHS for the Course Selection Fair
 
When: Monday, February 2
 
Time: 6:30-8:00 pm
 
We will begin in Rodgers Auditorium at 6:30 and will then have break-out sessions to talk in smaller groups.
 
Students and parents will be able to get information about all of the courses that we offer at DHS.

FBISD's Academy Expo

FBISD's Academy Expo takes place on Tuesday, January 27, 2015.
 
Fort Bend ISD will host its annual Academy Expo on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 to give current eighth-grade (8th grade) students and their parents and/or guardians the opportunity to learn about the district’s high school academy programs.
 
The event will be held from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at Wheeler Field House (16403 Lexington Blvd., Sugar Land, 77479).
Academies exist to provide specialized learning communities with concentrated and robust course pathways comprised of career and academic classes. The district currently offers the following high school academy programs:

DMS Spelling Bee!

DMS held its 2014-2015 Campus Spelling Bee on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in which 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners were selected based upon their performances.
 
The winners of the DMS Spelling Bee were:
 
1st Place - Marco Jonsson, 6th grade
2nd Place - Shani Chiang, 6th grade
3rd Place - Arshiya Shah, 6th grade
 
A huge round of applause goes out to all of the participating students in the Spelling Bee for displaying such AWESOME talent!
 
The DMS family is supporting our first place winner, Marco Jonsson, as he moves on to the District Spelling Bee to be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015.
 
Way to go Vikings!

State Report Card for DMS

Dear Parent,
 
Attached you will find a link and a copy of the State of Texas 2013-14 School Report Card for Dulles Middle School. This is a report required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency. It has been sent to the parent or guardian of every child enrolled in a Texas public school. The report provides information concerning student performance on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), as well as information on student enrollment, class size averages, and financial expenditures.
 
The information contained in the School Report Card is required by state law and is briefly described in the enclosed “2013-14 School Report Card Definitions.” The report for our school may or may not have all the information described, because the information presented depends on whether the school is an elementary, middle, or high school.
 
State law requires that the school report card display information about the state, the district, and the school. Where possible, the information must be reported by race/ethnicity and socio-economic status of the students and must include at least two years of results.

2 Boxes tissues (to be given to first period teacher)
2 packages pencils
1 package pens (blue or black)
notebook paper (4 packages-should be replenished throughout the year)
2 glue stick
1 box Washable markers
1 pair scissors Fiskar metal pointed scissors
1 package highlighters
1 roll scotch tape (for use in Science and Social Studies)
3 packages index cards (3X5 lined)
1 pencil sharpener with cover
1 12” ruler marked with inches and centimeters
1 flash drive(preferably 2GB)
1 3” white binder
5 pocket folders with prongs
5 spiral notebooks
1 set tab dividers
1 pencil pouch
1 package of colored pencils
1 germ-x or hand sanitizer wipes
 
Additional information in regards to organizational supplies (binders, spirals, folders, etc.) needed for a specific class will be distributed the first week of school if needed.
