MCMS Health and Fitness Night

Greetings MCMS Families! Please bring the entire family to the Health and Fitness Night at Missouri City Middle School on May 11 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. We are promoting good health and nutrition through fun activities. The event will feature Xbox Kinect , Moonwalk, cooking demonstrations with samples, Zumba, free immunizations and screenings, guest appearances from an NFL Wide Receiver and more. Drawings for door prizes and raffles will take place continuously throughout the night. Prizes include Dynamo tickets, an Xbox Kinect, iPod Touch, gift cards and much, much more. Come out and make it an early Mother's Day celebration!
 

Middle to High School Transition Meeting

If your 8th grade student will be attending Thurgood Marshall High School next year, please plan on attending the High School Transition Workshop on Tuesday, May 1st from 6pm-7pm in the Orchestra Room. Thurgood Marshall High School staff and students will be present to answer questions for both students and parents about life at Thurgood Marshall! Please plan on attending.
 

SELF - Success, Experiences, Leadership and Fun   -Related Document

SELF is a summer program for middle school students. The goal is simple: for students to have fun, learn new things, and prepare for the future. The program is from June 4-August 10. Participants will choose from a variety of programs that fit their interests, then complete projects related to their chosen "major". Cougar CHAMP Camp

Would you like your child to get extra support with Math and Reading ? We have the solution for you – COUGAR CHAMP CAMP. Our Cougar Champ Camp will kick off this month at our campus. The camp promises to be collaborative and hands –on. Saturday Camp dates include: January 21, February 11, February 18, March 3, March 24, April 14 (7th grade only), and April 21(7th grade only). Camp begins promptly at 9 am and ends promptly at 12 Noon. Also, transportation will be provided . Students will be picked up at our feeder pattern schools:

Glover Elem. 8:40 am (Pick-up) 12:15 pm (Drop-off);
Hunter Glen Elem. 8:40 am (Pick-up) 12:15 pm (Drop-off);
Briar Gate Elem. 8:30 am (Pick-up) 12:25 pm (Drop-off);
Armstrong Elem. 8:30 am (Pick-up)`12:25 pm (Drop-off)

Parents may drop off at 8:50 am in the rear of the building on the bus ramp. Pick up is also in the rear of the building at 12:05 pm.

Missouri City Middle School is creating a beautiful all-color yearbook for the new school year. We are pre-ordering all of our books, so we will need to know the exact number of yearbooks to order very soon. If you do not order your book early, there is a strong possibility you will not receive one when they are delivered. The cost of the book is $25, but if you order before December 16th, the cost is only $18. There are two ways to order TODAY, to enjoy the cheapest yearbook price of the year: Order with a credit card by going to jostensyearbooks.com or order with cash or check and bring to the school. In an effort to improve academic success and enhance social skills, MCMS has implemented Professional Learning Communities. We currently house six learning communities which are comprised of a teacher from the math, Language A (ELA), science, and Humanities (Social Studies) area.
