Health and Fitness Night
|
|
MCMS will host our second annual Health and Fitness Night, May 31, 2013 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. This event is being hosted by our MOVE IT Club, clinic, student wellness coordinator and athletic department. Join us for an educational and fun filled evening which includes basketball games, food samples, cooking demonstrations, immunizations, health screenings and drawings for prizes. Cheerleading Parent/Student Informational Meeting

Missouri City Middle School is having cheerleading tryouts Monday, May 13th through Wednesday, May 15th from 5:00 – 6:30pm. Cheerleading tryouts will be for incoming 7th and 8th grade students only. The STAAR test will be administered to 7th and 8th grade students on April 2nd and April 3rd. Procedures have been established to ensure that an appropriate testing environment is maintained. "Building Confident Teens" Program

The ESCAPE Family Resource Center and the MCMS Parent Resource Center present "Building Confident Teens". This is a free program that will be held each Monday beginning January 14 through March 4 at Missouri City Middle School. Each session is from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Topics include educational information on healthy peer relationships, youth violence/injury prevention, electronic aggression and many more subjects that impact our youth. Monthly Moms and Muffins/Dads and Donuts

Dr. Acosta hosts monthly events for parents to ask questions and express concerns about all aspects of Missouri City Middle School. Please plan on attending MOMS AND MUFFINS on the 1st Monday of each month and DADS AND DONUTS on the 1st Friday of every month. The meetings are held in the orchestra room from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.

Adult ESL Classes at MCMS
|

Free Adult ESL classes will be held every Tuesday starting September 11th from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Missouri City Middle School (MCMS) Parent Center. Classes are taught by MCMS parent volunteer, Eva Fernandez. Mrs. Fernandez is an experienced and dedicated ESL instructor that makes learning English fun and easy. El Centro de Padres de Missouri City Middle School ofrece clases de inglés como segundo idioma (ESL) de nivel 1, gratuitas para adultos. Estas clases se llevan a cabo todos los martes, empezando el 11 de septiembre de 8:30 a.m. a 11:00 a.m., en el Centro de Padres de MCMS. Eva Fernández, madre voluntaria del mismo colegio enseñará. There will be an Open Community Forum discussing “Student Discipline and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964”. The forum is being held in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights’ (“OCR”) compliance review of the Fort Bend Independent School District regarding the discipline of African-American students. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Fort Bend ISD Administration Annex Building on 3119 Sweetwater Blvd. It is hosted by the Dallas Office of the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights. Greetings MCMS Families! Please bring the entire family to the Health and Fitness Night at Missouri City Middle School on May 11 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. We are promoting good health and nutrition through fun activities. The event will feature Xbox Kinect , Moonwalk, cooking demonstrations with samples, Zumba, free immunizations and screenings, guest appearances from an NFL Wide Receiver and more. Drawings for door prizes and raffles will take place continuously throughout the night. Prizes include Dynamo tickets, an Xbox Kinect, iPod Touch, gift cards and much, much more. Come out and make it an early Mother's Day celebration!
