About Missouri City Middle School
COUGAR ORIENTATION

In preparation for an exciting and productive 2014-2015 school year, MCMS is having COUGAR ORIENTATION for all students and parents. Please make plans to attend on the appropriate date.
6th Grade August 12 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
7th Grade August 13 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
8th grade August 13 1:30 p.m. -3:30 p.m.

Lockers will be issued and students will have an opportunity to purchase P.E. uniforms. There will also be an assembly for parents and students which will include an overview of campus procedures, expectations and other relevant information.
 
Uniform shirt colors are as follows:
6th graders - black
7th graders - yellow
8th graders- sky blue
 
We are looking forward to a great school year!

FBISD Community Meet and Greet   -Related Document

There will be an informal meeting for parents and community members of the Marshall High School and Willowridge High School feeder pattern schools. The meeting is on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Willowridge High School Commons. The Fort Bend ISD Superintendent and staff members will be present. Exam Schedule for Second Semester   -Related Document

The exam schedule has been revised due to the inclement weather make-up days. Exams will be taken on June 3 through June 6. Students will be released at 12:50 on June 5 and June 6. Please view the RELATED DOCUMENT for exam schedule details.

MCMS 8th Grade Parent Night

Attention 8th Grade Parents! Please plan to attend the MCMS 8th Grade Parent Night "Moving On Up To High School" on Monday, May 12 at 6:00 p.m. in the MCMS Commons. The first 25 eighth graders accompanied by a parent will participate in a pizza party. Door Prizes will be awarded throughout the event. MCMS Health and Fitness Night

Parents and community members are invited to the Missouri City Middle School Health and Fitness Night on May 9 from 5:30 - 8:00. There will be door prizes, fabulous activities, and healthy snacks. Inclement Weather Make-Up Days

The two inclement weather instructional days will be made up on June 5 and May 26 (Memorial Day). There will be early dismissal on June 5 and June 6. As a reminder, Fort Bend ISD will be closed on April 18 for Good Friday.

PTO meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Commons, with the exception of the month of January and May.

Adult ESL Classes at MCMS

Free Adult ESL classes will be held every Tuesday starting September 17th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Missouri City Middle School (MCMS) Parent Center. Classes are taught by MCMS parent volunteer, Eva Fernandez. Mrs. Fernandez is an experienced and dedicated ESL instructor that makes learning English fun and easy. El Centro de Padres de Missouri City Middle School ofrece clases de inglés como segundo idioma (ESL) de nivel 1, gratuitas para adultos. Estas clases se llevan a cabo todos los martes, empezando el 11 de septiembre de 8:30 a.m. a 10:30 a.m., en el Centro de Padres de MCMS. Eva Fernández, madre voluntaria del mismo colegio enseñará. La Sra. Fernández es una instructora de ESL con mucha experiencia y dedicada que hace entretenido y fácil el aprender inglés.

Campus Based Leadership Team Participation

Missouri City Middle School is extending the opportunity for parents, business partners and community members to serve on the Campus Based Leadership Team (CBLT). Business representatives may serve without regard to whether the representative resides in the District or whether the business is located in the District. Community Members must reside in the District and must be at least 18 years of age. CBLT meetings will be held on the second Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m. Please contact the school at 281.634.3440 if you are interested in being part of the decision-making process at Missouri City Middle School.

Please make plans to attend our Title 1 Annual Meeting on Thursday, September 12 at 5:30 p.m. Important information will be provided regarding the Title 1 Policy, parental involvement, Title 1 Compact, accountability and the academic status of MCMS.

Monthly Moms and Muffins/Dads and Donuts

Dr. Acosta hosts monthly events for parents to ask questions and express concerns about all aspects of Missouri City Middle School. Please plan on attending MOMS AND MUFFINS on the 1st Monday of each month and DADS AND DONUTS on the 1st Friday of every month. The meetings are held in the orchestra room from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.
