Mission West Elementary (MWE) opened its doors in 1991. MWE strives to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of our diverse student population through innovative, engaging teaching. MWE also places great importance on character building to develop strong character virtues that will guide our students throughout their lives.

New Lunchroom Policy

Coming to visit your child at lunch? Attached you will find the new procedures for parents who come to lunch. You can fill it out at home and bring the form up, or get a form from the office.

School Hours
|
|
School doors open at 7:30 a.m. Breakfast is served from 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. in the cafeteria. Students are expected to be in their classroom at 8:10a.m. After 8:10 a.m. they are marked tardy. (we’ve been having kids come at 8:10 a.m. expecting to eat breakfast) School begins at 8:10 a.m. Students arriving after 8:10 a.m. are considered tardy and will need a parent to accompany them into the building. 11:10 AM Pre-Kindergarten dismissed 12:10 PM Pre-K (PM) Classes begin 3:10 PM Dismissal for All Grades Students are expected to go home the same way every day unless the school receives a written, dated notice changing how the student is to go home. Students will line up to go home: Car Rider (parent must stay in car and go through drive through to pick student up); Walk Up (parent parks car and walks up to pick up student); Walker/Biker; Day Care; and Bus Rider. Students/Parents should have a plan for how the student is to go home for rainy day dismissals. Students arriving after 10 a.m. will be counted absent for the day unless they have a written note from the doctor stating that they were seen that day.
