Teacher Preferences for Next Year
|
|
Parents of Kinder-4th grade students - a two-sided form will be coming home in your child's Tuesday folder that will help us plan for the coming school year. Although we do not take requests for a specific teacher, information given on this form is taken into consideration when forming classes for the following year. Some areas of consideration include:
„« Academic needs
„« Social needs
„« Recommendations by administration, teachers, instructional specialists, counselor, and/or special program teachers
„« Maintaining an equal balance among all classes
The deadline to complete this form is May 18, however, it is completely OPTIONAL.

Are You Leaving Us?

Please complete the "leaving" side, if you know that you will not be returning to Oakland next year. The form is attached below.

2012-2013 Kindergarten Registration
|

Registration dates have been announced for students entering Kindergarten in the 2012-2013 school year. Registration will begin on April 9, from 8am-3pm. On Tuesday, April 10, registration will be in the evening, from 5pm-7pm, then 8am-3pm again starting on Wednesday, April 11. Registration packets may be picked up from the front office during regular business hours after April 2, but registrations will not be taken until April 9. You will be asked to add your name and your child’s name to our registration list and select an appointment time and date to return your forms. Available times for April (beginning April 12) and May include Monday throught Friday at:

Students must turn 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2012, to be eligible for Kindergarten. Along with the registration forms, the documents needed are: birth certificate, social security card, current immunization record (shot records must be up to date - contact your pediatrician for verification), current deed or lease (or mortgage statement or tax assessment bill), current gas, water or electric bill, and parent photo ID.

Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to our new Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Bobbi Threatt! Mrs. Threatt is the Special Services team leader. When asked why she is a teacher, she says "....it's because she wants to make a difference." But in the end she says that teachers are really the "...lucky recipient." Our other fantastic finalists were Mrs. Pam Esmond, 1st grade Team Leader, and Mrs. Erika Rubin, 2nd grade Team Leader. We are very proud of our 3 finalists—congratulations to all of you!

First Two Spaces in the Car Pool Line!

Please be aware that the first two spots in our circle drive are reserved for the PTO Silent Auction "1st in Line" Winners. They were the high bidders at last year's carnival, and have paid for the right to be first in line. Maybe next year you can be first!

Cafeteria Update

Parents - we need your help with regard to the cafeteria! Miss NeNe is shorthanded, and unfortunately cannot spend time discussing your child's account when they are trying to serve breakfast, or during lunches.
