FBISD Town Hall Information

“Save the Date” for Fort Bend ISD Town Hall Meetings – May 23, May 29 and May 30:
Proposed Attendance Boundary Changes
FORT BEND ISD – Fort Bend Independent School District is asking parents and community members to “save the date” to be able to attend one of three Town Hall Meetings on May 23, May 29 or May 30 to learn more about proposed attendance boundary changes for the 2012-2013 school year. The FBISD Building Utilization Committee (BUC) members will share their recommendations at the May 21 Board Meeting. The recommendations and maps will be available for viewing on the District’s website on May 22.
Purpose: The purpose of the BUC is to gather and process data for a proposal for the optimum building utilization within the district. Committee members are presenting their proposal to the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees on May 21. The objectives of the BUC are also to give input and feedback reflecting community perceptions, desires and ideas, and to assist with communication of the plan. Considerations for the BUC proposal include: enrollment levels, building capacities, and current and future population growth. The BUC membership includes community representatives from each geographical section of Fort Bend ISD, FBISD administrators and all members of the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees. Seven meetings have been held since the first one held in January 2012.

Following the May 21 Board Meeting presentation, the recommendations and maps will be posted on the District’s website at fortbendisd.com. Parents and the community are invited to view the recommendations and attend these informative presentations and ask questions. Save the date now to be able to attend one of the Town Hall meetings.
The Board will consider the proposed attendance boundary changes as an action item at its June 11 Board Meeting.

We are so relieved that a missing Fort Bend ISD elementary student has been found, and we believe this is a good time to review important personal safety tips with our families.

Please note that if you are in need of an extra copy of your child's report card to participate in summer events such as football or cheerleading, you must request the extra copy by the last day of school. After May 31st, we will not be making extra copies of report cards.

End Of Year FMNV Reminder


Dear Parents,
Please remember that we are only allotted 2 party days per school year – Christmas and Valentine's Day. This means there are no other school days left where foods of minimal nutritional value (FMNV) are allowed.
Please note the following:
1. We are not allowed to serve foods of minimal nutritional value such as pizza, cupcakes, soda, candy, etc. on Field Day or on End of the Year Awards Day. Sack lunches will be served on both days to students who choose not to bring a lunch from home.
2. As usual, you may bring food to your own children for lunch on those days; HOWEVER, parents may not buy food for any other students in the class. A more specific example – a parent may not donate pizza for the entire class to eat at lunch. Saying that the food is a “donation” does not make it allowable.
3. If parents send FMNV food items to be handed out to students, they will not be handed out and will be sent back home. "Goodie bags" may be handed out to students if they contain stickers, pencils, etc. They may not be distributed to students if they contain candy.

End Of Year Awards Schedule


Wednesday – May 30th – PreK-4th Awards Day
 
• PreK Awards– AM and PM – in the classroom –
Mrs. Webb will determine the time.
 
• K Awards– 9:00-9:45 in cafeteria
 
• 1st Awards– 10:00-10:30- in cafeteria
 
Lunch Schedule: 11:00-11:30 K/1, 11:30-12:00 2/3, 12:00-12:30 4/5
Outclasses will remain at regular time.
 
• 2nd Awards – 1:00-1:30 in the cafeteria.
 
• 3rd Awards – 1:45-2:15 in the cafeteria.
 
• 4th Awards – 2:30-3:00 in the cafeteria.
 
Thursday – May 31st – Early Release Day 10:55–
Last Day for Students
• 5th Awards – 9:00 in the cafeteria.
 
Friday – June 1st – Teacher Workday
