Quail Valley Elementary is ecstatic about are upcoming 2013-2014 school year. We are eager to meet and enroll our upcoming Kindergarten Eagles. Kindergarten Spring Registration is scheduled for the following dates: April 08, 2013 (8:10 AM-2:30 PM) April 09, 2013 (5:00 PM-7:00 PM) April 10, 2013 (8:10 AM-2:30 PM) In addition, we are welcoming our future Kindergarten Eagles (parents/students) to our Kindergarten showroom! This experience will allow you to see our high student engagement, rigorous curriculum and our use of technology with your own eyes. We will open our Kindergarten showroom every Thursday 9:00-10:00AM, beginning April 11, 2013. We hope to see you there!!

Registration Information

QVE will begin registration on August 6, 2012. You will be assisted by QVE's greatest Registrar, Mrs. Marcia Pena! The following documents must accompany the registration packet: BIRTH CERTIFICATE SOCIAL SECURITY CARD IMMUNIZATION RECORD PARENTS DRIVERS LICENSE LEASE OR DEED LAST REPORT CARD CURRENT UTILITY BILL - (gas, water, or electric)

School Hours
|
|
Kindergarten - Grade 6: 8:10AM - 3:10 PM It is imperative that students report to school between 7:30 AM and 8:05 AM. All students are expected to be in their classrooms by 8:10, ready to learn!

Dismissal
|
|
One of our main goals at QVE is to efficiently account for every student and to safely deliver your child to you on a daily basis. For this reason we are dedicated to ensuring that our dismissal process is precisely followed . Our systems provide a sense of safety for all of our students. QVE Dismissal System 1. Bus riders are escorted and monitored in the gym until their designated transportation source arrives. 2.Day Care riders are escorted and monitored in the gym until their designated transportation arrives. 3.Car riders will be released to their designated area according to the guardian’s Car Rider Tag. 4.Walkers are escorted to their designated release area. 5.Extended Day students are escorted to Extended Day facility where they are greeted and retrieved by Extended Day personnel. QVE MANDATORY DISMISSAL POLICY Written notices to your child’s teacher are required to change your child’s normal dismissal on any given day! No child may be released for early dismissal starting at 2:30 p.m.; therefore, a child must proceed with QVE regular dismissal process starting at 2:30. Parents, your child must be picked up by 3:30. After 3:30 you are considered late and must sign your child out from the front office area, where your child will be monitored by after-hour’s staff.

Snack Time!
|
|
QVE Approved Snacks (Grades K-5)... The following is a list of snacks that we allow our QVE students to bring during their daily snack time: Pretzels, Animal Crackers, Graham Crackers, Wheat Crackers, Rice Cakes or Mini Cakes, Fruit/Grain Muffin, Dry Cereal, Bagel, Fig Bars, Vanilla Wafers, Fruit Snacks, Fruit Grain Bars, Peanut Butter/Crackers, String Cheese and Trail Mix In an effort to adhere to Federal nutritional guidelines we have provided this list of acceptable snack items. If it is not on this list, please do not send it with your child. In addition, students are only allowed to bring clear water in transparent bottles.

School Closings
|
|
The emergency closing of schools is determined by the superintendent. Announcements of such closings will be made via the news media.
|
|
Illness:
|
|
Your child may not remain at school if he/she complains of: * fever of 100.4 or above * suspected contagious disease * vomiting * diarrhea * undetermined rash * feeling too badly to remain at school Children should be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to school. If medication must be given at school, it must be provided by the parent in its original container and kept in the clinic. The medication must be accompanied by a written request containing the name of child and physician, the name of the medication, the amount and time to be given, and the signature of the parent or guardian.
