The Family Access is now available to all parents. This secure web-based application will provide parents access to "real time" information including grades, attendance, and more. Go to the FBISD website and click on the Family Access link. After completing the on-line registration form, print it and bring it to the campus for processing.

History of Ridgegate

Ridgegate Elementary began its construction process in 1979. Two years later, in the month of January, under the leadership of Mrs. Gwen Longbotham the school opened its doors. Small in number, there was only 1 kindergarten, 3 first grades, 3 second grades, 3 third grades, 3 fourth grades, and 3 fifth grade classes. . Today because of the influx of students and the continuous community development, Ridgegate has grown from a small school to an extension of temporary buildings and double classrooms.

School Hours

Grades K-6 8:10am- 3:10pm
 
***Students may enter the building at 7:30am.***
(Students not in their homeroom by 8:10 am are counted tardy)
 
Please remember that if you drive your children to school, you must drive through the car rider lane in front of the school building. Children are not permitted to walk across the parking lot unescorted.
After school, car riders are picked up on the side of the building near the staff parking lot.

School Closings

The emergency closing of schools is determined by the superintendent.
Announcement of such a closing will be made via the news media.

Registration Information

To enroll a child in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten or first grade, the following are needed:
- birth certificate or equivalent
- immunization record indicating the child is fully immunized or is on a schedule to be fully immunized*
- proof of residence (lease or deed and utility bill)*
- student's social security number or state assigned number
- picture ID of parent or guardian

School Uniforms

All students who attend Ridgegate are required to wear uniforms. This is mandatory dress code, and must be worn to school each day. The dress code is as follows. The students must wear a polo style shirt, which can be in any of these three colors - red, white, or navy. The pants worn to school must be appropriately sized and should be in any of these two colors - navy or khaki. Any shorts or skirts worn to school can be no less than 3 inches above the knee. A belt should also be worn for any pants or shorts that have belt loops. If you have any questions about the dress code, feel free to contact the school.
